Using Newsgroups to market your products should be a big part of your promotions and advertising. Even though it can be time consuming, it is very cost effective and can drive hundreds and even thousands of new hot prospects to your website, autoresponder, or sales letter.
Many businesses have been started and become successful by using Newsgroup advertising as their sole means of promotion. So Don't miss out on this great way of promoting your business just because you are not sure how to do it.
The best way to start your Newsgroup promotions is to join in the discussions, if someone has a question that you can answer, jump right in and answer it. Show your knowledge and expertise in your postings. Be sure to place your signature block at the end of every message you post. If at all possible "key" the urls so you can track how well a posting did. When a posting gives you good results you will want to use it again and in other Newsgroups. One good posting could bring you several new prospects and customers.
Everyone loves useful and quality information that is free. Try writing a few reports that are relevant to the Newsgroups you have joined. At the end of your report be sure to entice people to visit your site, request info from your autoresponder, etc. You can even direct people to your site in the body of the report if you can work it in as a place where they can receive even more information. Don't overdo it with links or blatantly advertise, all you want to do is plant the idea that going to your website, requesting more information, etc. will be to their benefit.
The great thing about a quality free report is that you can post it directly into newsgroups that don't allow ads and you won't get flamed for it! In fact, readers will like the information so much they are very likely to follow the embedded sales message and go right to your site where they will sign up for your free newsletter, get more free reports, and eventually BUY from you!
In some instances you can get away with posting your free report to totally unrelated Newsgroups! With a quality free report your chances of getting flamed are pretty slim. And if you do get flamed, just remove that group from your list of "acceptable to post in" groups.
By experimenting, posting in a few different groups each week and removing any off your list that flame you or you get no response from, you will soon have a sizable list of newsgroups to post in regularly, that could generate thousands of prospects for you very quickly.
By giving good information for free you will stand out from the numerous people that post blatant advertisements!
