Basic Principles and Ideas of Build Freedom

by Frederick Mann

The two most basic ideas of this website are:

Our motto "Build Freedom" is a positive and creative activity -- as opposed to "fighting tyranny" or "fighting for freedom" which tends to be a reaction or response to "New World Order" ("NWO") type tyranny.

The means for creating greater freedom includes real free-enterprise businesses.

The idea is that people in the real free-enterprise sector of the world will become sufficiently powerful, competent, effective, wealthy, healthy and influential to out-compete the "NWO" people.

"NWO"-type tyrants want their victims to do things that increase the power of tyrants while decreasing the freedom/liberty of victims.

An important principle is that the power of tyrants depends on the support they receive from their victims. Real free-enterprise business can be effectively used as a means to withdraw support from tyrants.

Maybe there are some simple yet powerful actions victims could take to increase their freedom/liberty -- and cease to be victims -- while reducing the power of tyrants.

My suggestion is to create and expand real free-enterprise businesses that operate in accordance with the following US Supreme Court ruling:

"The individual [as opposed to the corporation] may stand upon his constitutional rights as a citizen. He is entitled to carry on his private business in his own way. His power to contract is unlimited. He owes no such duty [to submit his books and papers for an examination] to the State, since he receives nothing therefrom, beyond the protection of his life and property. His rights are such as existed by the law of the land [Common Law] long antecedent to the organization of the State, and can only be taken from him by due process of law, and in accordance with the Constitution. Among his rights are a refusal to incriminate himself, and the immunity of himself and his property from arrest or seizure except under a warrant of the law. He owes nothing to the public so long as he does not trespass upon their rights." -- Hale v. Henkel, 201 U.S. 43 at 47 (1905)

A real free-enterprise business operates in accordance with the above ruling, as far as practically possible. A great deal of practical know-how and experience already exist on how to start and operate real free-enterprise businesses that are largely free from bureaucratic intervention. (Generally, free-enterprise businesses are not corporations.)

OBJECTION: I believe that the 1905 decision you are using was superceded by the (accepted as true) ratification of the 16th Amendment. Whether or not this is "true," I have no doubt that the state believes it to be true, as do most people (even libertarians), and the decision is therefore limited as a persuasive tool. As a legal precedent, I think it would be completely disregarded by the courts (and wrongfully disregarding the law and precedent has never stopped the courts from cronyism before!)... I've never heard of a single judge who would be willing to declare so much of the state's current activity illegal. (S)he'd be certain to be overruled by the current supreme court (which has also been known to reverse itself).

ANSWER: The practical know-how on how to run a business in accordance with Hale v. Henkel is part of Freedom Technology. One of the most basic principles is that you never have to deal with "the state." You only have to deal with individual "terrocrats" (terrorist bureaucrats or coercive government agents).

As a sovereign individual, you can set up your business and/or organize your personal affairs so that you almost never have to deal with terrocrats. Freedom Technology includes powerful means to deal with terrocrats so they leave you alone. Terrocrats tend to go after the easy targets or marks. With Freedom Technology you can usually stop most terrocrats quickly. I have personally lived my life and operated my businesses in accordance with Hale v. Henkel for over 25 years in several countries with no significant problems from any terrocrats.

Hale v. Henkel is used here as an illustration, rather than a reliance. Nevertheless, Freedom Technology does include pointers on how to use Hale v. Henkel to stop terrocrat attacks.

One of the most important principles of Freedom Technology is that you don't fight terrocrats on their own turf. You stop them long before a situation deteriorates to the point that you're forced into court. In over 25 years of practicing Freedom Technology, it's never been necessary for me to go to one of their so-called "courts".

Most terrocrats, consciously or unconsciously, do cost-benefit analyses. If terrocrats see you as a tough nut to crack -- an expensive nut to crack -- with little or no prospective benefit for them -- they tend to leave you alone. They have limited resources. They have insufficient resources to pursue all their prospective targets or marks. They constantly have to make choices who they go after. In general, they go after the easy pickings.

OBJECTION: I can see how some businesses might be legally structured so that their very operation would "build freedom," but my experience leads me to predict that most people will believe (whether true or not) that such endeavors will inevitably lead them to direct and unpleasant conflict with the state. This would definitely not be perceived as "fun"... Remember, that even under unambiguous circumstances, most people are afraid of starting their own business anyway. Now, this does NOT mean that I don't think the idea of running circles around the state with businesses until it atrophies and dies isn't a good one. It's a fantastic idea!

ANSWER: The notion of "conflict with the state" is a false perception. What typically happens in reality is that a terrocrat sends you a letter. Applying Freedom Technology, you've set up your business or organized your affairs so you're prepared to deal with that letter. Should you receive such a letter, depending upon the circumstances (there are far too many possibilities to cover them all here), you can determine whether it can be safely ignored, or simply returned to sender, or you respond in a way that persuades the terrocrat -- consciously or unconsciously -- to leave you alone in order to pursue another victim who'll be an easier nut to crack.

When you think in terms of dealing with individual terrocrats (usually not the most competent or brilliant people) -- as opposed to "the state" (overwhelmingly powerful?) -- you get to be in the driver's seat. You position yourself psychologically, strategically, and tactically to have FUN with terrocrats -- on the rare occasions that they try to meddle with your affairs.

Thinking in terms of "running circles around the state" tends to be a debilitating error. You're much more powerful if you think in terms of running circles around individual terrocrats (usually not the most competent or brilliant people). Perceptual individualists -- who see individual terrocrats with their specific characteristics -- tend to be more effective than perceptual collectivists -- who mistakenly project an amorphous, overwhelmingly powerful "entity" they call "the state."

It may be true that most people are afraid to start their own businesses. This needn't be a problem, since many people can and do overcome this fear. If you don't want to start your own business you can work in or with someone else's business.

"Unsubscribing" from tyrant systems may also be a fearful prospect for many. Such fear may keep some people trapped in victimhood. Maybe the means can be provided to overcome the fear.
