DOES IT MATTER IF PEOPLE RESIST CHANGE?

People resist change. But what difference does it make? So what if they do resist? If the change is really needed, won't it win out in the end anyway? People have resisted a lot of things in this country, but resistance did not necessarily stop progress. People resisted the Industrial Revolution, but it came anyway. Won't it be the same with the changes we are facing now? Well, maybe.  But at what cost?  What is the cost of poorly managed change?

First of all, there is a lot of personal anguish when change is poorly managed. There is a lot of organizational turmoil. And the implementation of change is so often significantly delayed. But there is more to it than that. Well, what do we do? Where do we start to manage the change? Why not start with the people?
