About the Authors

Harold H. Bloomfield, M.D. is a Yale-trained psychiatrist and one of the leading psychological educators of our time.

Dr. Bloomfield's first book, TM-Transcendental Meditation, was an international bestseller on the New York Times list for over 6 months. Dr. Bloomfield's other bestsellers, How To Survive the Loss of a Love (over 2 million copies sold) and How to Heal Depression have become self-help classics. His other works, Making Peace With Your Parents, Making Peace With Yourself, Lifemates, and Making Peace in Your Stepfamily, introduced personal, marital, and family peacemaking to millions of people.

Dr. Bloomfield's books have sold over six million copies and have been translated into twenty-four languages. His newest books are The Power of 5, and How to Feel Safe in an Unsafe World.

He is an adjunct professor of psychology at the Union Graduate School and a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the San Diego Psychiatric Society.

Dr. Bloomfield is a much-admired keynote speaker for public programs, corporate meetings, and professional conferences.

Dr. Bloomfield maintains a private practice of psychiatry, psychotherapy, and executive counseling in Del Mar, California.

Mikael Nordfors, M.D., is a psychiatric researcher at Sahlgrehnska University Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden. His medical knowledge, research skills, and fluency in several languages have been invaluable in tracking down, translating, and understanding the medical studies on hypericum.
