By early summer, Jonathan Ward was becoming a story in the national media exactly as Al Patterson predicted. By midsummer, with the forces of the former students at work, Jonathan Ward and his Neo-Tech Party became the buzz, which began spreading on its own momentum beyond the forces of the former students. Al had predicted this phenomenon too; in fact, he was counting on it.
Jake and Jasmine worked day and night on their articles for the Patterson Papers, working around their summer classes. Several times, since the reunion, Jake considered leaving school for a year to focus all his efforts on the mission. School seemed so irrational now. His professors looked like fat socialistic idiots who had no clue on how the world of values worked.
One Monday after classes, Jake and Jasmine went to the new Debbie's French Fry City that had just opened in town, replacing the first of the two original hamburger restaurants, and they ordered double cheeseburgers, a medium drink and, of course, the free fries.
Then, the cashier blurted, "If you take a look at the Six Visions of Wealth and Happiness, we'll be glad to supersize that at our expense!" She gestured to the tray sheet. Jake and Jasmine looked down at the tray sheet and saw a picture of Jonathan and his Six Visions listed in big, easy-to-read text. They burst into laughter.
"Well, Debbie found her way to contribute to the mission," Jake chuckled to Jasmine. "What a bold idea!"
"Yes, we'd love to look at the Six Visions," Jasmine told the cashier.
"Supersize it!" she gleefully blared into the microphone.
Jake and Jasmine got their order and sat down to eat. The food was fresh, crisp, and tasty. The french fries, though, were exceptional.
"Yeah," Jake said, "the fries are downright addicting. I'll be back here by Thursday."
Jasmine agreed. Then she noticed, for the first time, that the stack of papers on the table Jake had been carrying under his arm were not part of the Patterson Papers. "What's all that?" she asked.
"See for yourself," he said, pushing the stack toward her.
She looked at him quizzically then at the papers. "No way! The AP?" she squealed in delight. There on the front page of the top paper The Orange County Register was their article titled How You Can Become a Millionaire...Without Lifting a Finger subtitled Your Neo-Tech World. She raced through the stack and saw their article in 21 major daily papers. "We broke through!" she screamed. "And they all put our by-line. Oh my god, Jake!"
When they got back to Jake's room, a message from Al Patterson himself was on Jake's message machine. It was short and to the point:
"Can you kids take time off from school and move to New York City to work at headquarters? I need you here to help get Johnny in the White House. Oh, by the way, congratulations! You're fresh and you're hot. Your articles'll go AP from now till elections in November! I hope you can get here. If you can, I'm tripling your pay."
Jake and Jasmine packed that night.

Momentum was building for Jonathan Ward. He seemed to have suddenly leapfrogged beyond just an interesting new face with fresh ideas...to a contender.
He now had some heavyweights behind him such as the Church of God-Man of eight million people, Miss Annabelle's web site of nearly two million people, Debbie's French Fry City with millions of customers; he had enormous funds behind him now with financial backing from Theodore and the others in the God-Man Group; and he had major media exposure through the Patterson Papers.
Jonathan Ward had money in his war chest and substantial supporters. His campaign reached society from several different angles: from executives and entrepreneurs by way of Salinski to teenage music lovers by way of Reggie. Reggie recently broke through to a new music sensation that was sending shock waves through the music world of young adults. One of his Top 40 productions was Freedom Fighting. It was a song about Jonathan and his Neo-Tech World.
*
Jake and Jasmine's first assignment when they arrived at headquarters was to cover Reggie's new music sensation. The day after arriving at the executive offices of Patterson Press in New York City, they were on a plane to Los Angeles.
Standing outside the Grassroots Charts building in Los Angeles, Jake thought: what a 48 hours! He and Jasmine were in the national headquarters of a major newspaper chain one day and the national headquarters of a major cable station the next, 3000 miles apart. Going inside, Jake noticed many similarities between the two operations. Most noticeably was the exciting intensity in the air. Both operations ran on unmovable deadlines, and the people seemed charged up. Jake loved the feeling inside places like these. With those deadlines, a lot got accomplished.
Patterson's biggest daily paper was in New York City. Headquarters produced the New York Daily and oversaw the production of all markets. The first impression Jake got at Patterson was: big rooms filled with lots of people. Although there only one day, Jake could see those people were focussed.
The rooms were not as big and the people were not as many at Grassroots Charts, but Jake noticed the people were just as focussed. The rooms contained mazes of audio/video equipment and lots of TV monitors.
At both Patterson Press in New York and Grassroots Charts in Los Angeles, Jake noticed how attractive people looked when they were focussed on their work; they really looked with it, he thought. After all, their intensity represented the essence of man: producing values. Men and women really look good when they're producing values, he realized. It felt good to be in this high-paced environment.
An attractive middle-aged woman in a tight red skirt and tight white blazer received Jake and Jasmine in the waiting room. The waiting room overlooked the action on the floor at Grassroots. She led them down a few steps and onto the busy floor. Jake loved being in the middle of the action and thought how fun it'd be to work here. The attractive receptionist opened the glass door into Reggie's office.
"Hey guys!" Reggie shouted across his expansive office. "Welcome to my second home!"
His office was huge and was lined with three levels of viewing monitors on three walls. The room had a large retreat with clothes closets, dresser drawers, an executive bathroom with a shower, and a pull down bed from the wall.
"I spend a couple nights a week here. This place never slows down. I even have a bedroom and a playroom for my kids, right through that door. They love it here, and I love having them around. You know, my 8-year-old picked the last eight out of ten nighttime rotations that made it to prime time. And now he loves my new sound that's creating waves out there. Come on!" Reggie led them out of his office and down a long corridor, through a glass door. Inside opened to a large recording studio. They stood in the engineer's room. Reggie picked up a phone on the wall and called for Dennis. A moment later a pleasant Dudley Moore look-alike with a gentle English accent walked in and greeted the three of them.
"Take Neo-Tech Party from the top, my man," Reggie told the friendly engineer. Then Reggie disappeared through a small wooden door. A few seconds later he reappeared through the large glass window in a huge room directly in front of them, as Dennis brought up the lights. Wow, Jake thought, this is the first time I've been in a recording studio. Suddenly, a loud yet pleasant female voice-over shouted, "Neo-Tech Party...it's time to party!"
At that instance, Reggie leaned into a mic and rapped with the chorus:
(Chorus)
Now we're here to party...Now we're here to party!
Come on join the party...Come on everybody!
Now we're here to party...No one else can see this through!
Come on join the party...Come on now, we want you to!
Then Reggie stopped rapping and the unique female voice rapped out:
(Verse)
You wanna live like a millionaire (uh hu!)...vacation first class (class act)
You wanna drive a fancy car (Oh Yeah!)...and never look back (heard that)
You wanna live in a mansion (that's right)...pay everything cash (big stash)
You wanna party with the winners, no doubt, yeah, and always lead the pack
yo Jack say!
(Chorus)
Neo-Tech Party, it's time to party!
Now we're here to party...(Now we're here to party!)
Come on join the party...(Come on everybody!)
Now we're here to party...No one else can see this through!
Come on join the party...Come on now, we want you to!
(Verse)
Hey, you, in the old shoes
Dump...them...no-money blues
Neo-Tech can make you all rich
Come on now and hear this pitch:
Buy a car, dollars in the jar
Think computers if I've gone too far
Where today your money can buy
A thousand times over years gone by
Impossible to do? Wait, I'm not through
Regulations stir poverty brew
Up 'til now we waited like fools
For Uncle Sam to make it all cool
Some have to whore so they can afford
Basic needs in life they can't ignore
But once technology is free to soar
You'll buy everything in the whole damn store
Stomp bureaucrats and politicians
New technology is really kickin'
A brand new party that'll soon be stickin'
Dollars in our pockets...come and get `em!
(Chorus)
Neo-Tech Party, it's time to party!
Now we're here to party...(Now we're here to party!)
Come on join the party...(Come on everybody!)
Now we're here to party...No one else can see this through!
Come on join the party...Come on now, we want you to!
(Verse)
Your money's worth 1000 more!
Technology's free to soar!
Regulations out the door
So you can live on the whitest shore
Think computers if I go too fast
Where your cash really lasts what a blast
Regulations pass as trash
With America's newest smash
You say you wanna be rich?
Technology is the trick
When a buck's worth a thousand dollars
Even the poor folks stand up and hollar!
(Chorus)
Neo-Tech Party, it's time to party!
Now we're here to party...(Now we're here to party!)
Come on join the party...(Come on everybody!)
Now we're here to party...No one else can see this through!
Come on join the party...Come on now, we want you to!
(Bridge)
All right, okay. Yo! What's the Neo-Tech Party?
...What! Who said that? Check this out:
Neo-Tech means New Technology!
No longer regulated like pornography!
Life ain't what it oughta' be? (Noooo!)
Who's through with apologies?
The Neo-Tech Party -- that's our name
New Technology -- that's our game
Ask us again and we'll tell you the same --
The Neo-Tech Party -- that's our name
The Neo-Tech Party has begun
Soon be wealth for everyone
Live in luxury and fun
Find you place out in the sun
Wealth and health -- it's all so plain
Freeing technology is our aim
Seeing you rich is now our game
The Neo-Tech Party, we're glad you came! SAY!
(Chorus)
Neo-Tech Party, it's time to party!
Now we're here to party...(Now we're here to party!)
Come on join the party...(Come on everybody!)
Now we're here to party...No one else can see this through!
Come on join the party...Come on now, we want you to!
(Fade Out)
Who's gonna put his power away...a whoo! There he is!
Who don't care about it anyway...a whoo! There he is!
Jonathan Ward, he's our man...a whoo! There he is!
If he can't do it, nobody can...a whoo! There he is!
Who's gonna put his power away...a whoo! There he is!
Who don't care about it anyway...a whoo! There he is!
Jonathan Ward, he's our man...a whoo! There he is!
If he can't do it, nobody can...a whoo! There he is!
(Rap)
Ou! Ou! Ou! Ou! Ou!
Vote Jonathan Ward for President
To Get Rich! Peace!
The music stopped and Reggie ran out of the recording room and burst into the engineering room like Alice falling back through the looking glass.
"What do you think?" he asked.
"That was cool," Jake answered. "I mean, real cool. It moves and the lyrics work."
"People don't really know what's making the new sound click. But you just said it, Jake. It moves, and the lyrics work. I believe the sense of life in the lyrics, carried by a rhythm that really moves, is making this Neo-Tech music rise on the charts out there. And as for the other artists who are copying us and rising up too, listen to their lyrics. They've caught on! The youth of the world are begging for this new way of life, and we're giving it to them."
"Who's the singer?" Jasmine asked.
"That's Gracie. I like her voice for the demographics I'm after. She's not urban; she's not country. Her voice appeals to both young and old. I'm promoting her debut album Anatomy of Love. 1 She wrote all the songs, and I love it."
"What are you going to do with Neo-Tech Party?" Jasmine asked. 2
"I'm going to put it in night rotation next week, just like all other starters. My son picked it to go to prime time. He picks eight out of ten winners here. I hope it goes. Then, Jonathan can use it as his theme song."
"What plans do you have with this new sensation? Will you put together an album based on the Neo-Tech ideas?" Jasmine asked, jotting down notes for the article.
"I've started a subsidiary label company called Neo-Tech Records. The debut album Neo-Tech World will be released next month. I've signed five promising new artists under the label. You'll be hearing more and more of this Neo-Tech music on the radio in the months to come. It's drawing in the kids and young adults into Neo-Tech. It'll be a good push for Jonathan."
*
On the plane flight back to New York, Jake began working on the article about the new sound of Neo-Tech music. The catchy beat of Neo-Tech Party kept going through his head as he began his article:
"I am reminded of the great philosopher Ayn Rand who left Russia after the Bolshevik Revolution. She knew with certainty, when she witnessed the artists adopt the communistic ideals, the battle was lost. As I leave Grassroots Charts, I know with certainty, having witnessed the artist adopt the Neo-Tech ideals, the battle is won. We will have our Neo-Tech World. And Jonathan Ward is our fast-track ticket there."
*
Back in New York at their new jobs, Jake and Jasmine could not put out articles fast enough. Every daily paper in the country wanted to publish their articles. People loved reading them. They were hot. Why? Jake and Jasmine wanted to know exactly what made them hot so they could move even further in that direction. Their articles were fresh and focussed on Neo-Tech. Like Neo-Tech music, they figured the subject was hot. It was. Other journalists all over the country began shifting to the Neo-Tech ideas and making the AP regularly.
Yet, Jake and Jasmine's popularity kept rising above the others and surpassing well-known journalists. Why?
The answer came during the next gathering of the God-Man Group at Rico's mansion. The question came up, and Salinski knew without pause.
"I can tell you exactly why you two are the hottest journalists in the country; I know because of my background. We share the same common denominator: we stood alone using fully integrated honesty in two fields dominated by dishonesty. Journalists and lawyers are one in the same: they have no regard for honesty; they only care about winning the game. I went through a dark period when I struggled to make the lone choice to do what I knew was honest. It nearly killed me. But now, I'm the most sought after lawyer in the country. Working off the roots of Patterson Press, you two are quickly becoming the most read journalists because you do not yield to dishonesty or rationalizations. And the world is changing. The momentum's on our side now."
*
The next article by Jake and Jasmine seemed to cause a turning point in Jonathan's campaign. Jake had noticed a few correlations with Jonathan's rise in popularity. Jake reported those correlations in this article. The first correlation was the new money pouring into medical research. His article explained why that phenomenon was occurring, and added that "America hasn't seen anything yet...just you wait until Jonathan Ward is elected. The medical research money will be so abundant that both major and obscure diseases will be eradicated one after the other like falling dominoes." He went on to explain that, very simply, Jonathan Ward represented eliminating cost prohibitive regulations, making it viable for businesses to invest in medical research.
Another correlation with Jonathan's rise in popularity was the widespread shift in businesses to pouring lots of money into research and development. His article explained this phenomenon was occurring because the present and future risks of business growth got dramatically lowered by the possibility of a Neo-Tech president who would eliminate bureaucratic regulations and harmful litigation. Research and development was the seed to job creation and value creation, Jake elaborated. The economy was showing new, robust strength, and the stock market was soaring, which the experts had a hard time trying to explain. But Jake's article showed the correlation of the economy to Jonathan's rising popularity. Moreover, with funds pouring into research and development and into higher risk, technological ventures, some of the payoffs were already reaching the economy. Advancing technologies were beginning to drive prices down and buying power up. Jake showed that the country was on the outer edge of a great Technological Revolution that would imminently dwarf the computer revolution in which buying power multiplied thousands of times. Jake tied the correlations from these exciting economic happenings the economic experts could not explain...to the cause: Jonathan Ward.
His article was titled Jonathan = Health & Wealth. It ran all over the country in 152 daily papers. The Wall Street Investor, the nation's largest business daily, also published a column analyzing Jake's article, confirming his correlations as accurate.
It was a historical fact that presidential elections were controlled by the economy. Jake's article accurately tied a soaring economy to Jonathan Ward, not the incumbent. In the weeks that followed, Jonathan's campaign took off. Political analysts pointed to Jake's article as the turning point.
*
Jake watched Jonathan confound crowds with his insistence that, for true political change, a candidate's political ideas, no matter how good, were meaningless in campaigns and absolutely powerless for becoming elected. He dismissed his own political ideas -- ideas people were starting to call brilliant -- as not really having anything to do with his surging popularity. In fact, he dismissed his exciting political ideas as not really his political ideas per se. He said that he was merely outlining the political structure that would remain when humanity leapt beyond the old mentality dependent on external authorities and into the next mentality in which man's own mind easily integrated knowledge and, with certainty, became its own authority.
As Jake observed Jonathan confound his crowds with such talk, Jake was reminded of how Jesus confounded the crowds he talked to. In preparation for a major article about the rapidly expanding Church of God-Man, Jake was in the middle of intense research in both the Bible and interpretations of the Bible. He learned from Mr. Melbourne that non-Biblical Jesus confounded his crowds because he was talking to the bicameral peasants from an entirely different mentality than theirs -- from the new human consciousness. He confounded yet stimulated them.
Jonathan was talking to his crowds from the new Neothink mentality. Now, this really got the public's interest up. This man talked to them from a much bigger picture that went far beyond himself. He was the liaison doing the legwork -- the messenger -- for the imminent political structure that would survive humanity's change into the new mentality and accept no more external authorities. As the crowds looked confounded, Jonathan would go on to chart history from the bicameral man to the conscious man to the forthcoming Neothink man or God-Man. They listened with great interest as he demonstrated how the bicameral mind had no mind space and was totally dependent on external authorities; then as language developed, the metaphor gave man the mind space to separate from the world immediately before him to step back, think, make decisions, and control his life...the mind of today.
Through Neothink-puzzle building, the mind of tomorrow, man can snap together mental puzzles and see, as with any puzzle, what the completed puzzle picture will look like before it is finished. So, with Neothink, man can both see and create his future, freeing him from any need for external authorities guiding or directing his life whatsoever.
"With the rapidly approaching leap into the Neothink mentality, external authorities such as political leaders can pack their bags and go home," Jonathan told his crowds. "Soon, there'll be no more politicians in politics." ...Like Jesus, he confounded yet fascinated his crowds.
And it was during Jonathan's talks that Jake saw a common denominator everywhere: the beginning of a collapse of external authorities. That explained the burst of popularity of the Church of God-Man and the Neo-Tech Party.
Although people did not yet know how to articulate it, Jake knew the time had come to jump past external authorities. The people's eyes were still covered, but not their emotions. Their longing to be free from external authorities is why Neo-Tech music was soaring. The right-brain emotions, Jake realized, will always precede the left-brain logic. And that is why Ayn Rand was right: when the artists join ranks, the world will follow.
*
The momentum just kept building. "Could it be," Jake wrote in one daring article, "that Jonathan is really unbeatable? Could the puzzle picture already be formed by the world's most competent minds who are now snapping the pieces into place?"
The Group was frantically working to put the pieces into place in order to get Jonathan elected. Getting him elected, however, was not the completed puzzle picture. Getting Jonathan elected was a piece -- a major piece -- of the puzzle picture. The completed puzzle picture, that Jake would not write about yet, was curing aging and death. Politics, business, science, medicine, happiness, and love were the pieces to the superpuzzle of immortality. The Group knew they needed to snap down politics first.
The bigger puzzle that Jake would not write about for some time to come went like this: The sea change in politics would end external authorities such as all those debilitating regulatory bureaucracies that stifle business, particularly hurting the entrepreneurs by making research costs prohibitive and too risky. Ending those regulatory bureaucracies would cause a business boon of "garage" entrepreneurs much like the largely unregulated computer revolution. To remain competitive, especially with the bombardment of "garage" entrepreneurs, businesses would go through a major change to unleash "in-house" entrepreneurs of their own, which would bring out the businesses' greatest asset: their employees' minds. Jobs would go from labor intensive to mind intensive. As employees learned how to live through the essence of man -- their minds -- they would love going to work, especially as businesses helped them discover and fulfill their Friday-Night Essences, much like Apple Computer's employees during its exciting early years. Employees would catapult from stagnant, bored routines into exhilarated, happy dynamos, regaining their deep motivational drive that would inevitably lead to creative success and wealth. Becoming deeply happy people, excited about work and their competitive creations, they would rise into a new, emotional existence capable of sustaining romantic love -- intense romantic love like the first few weeks of falling in love...but for their entire lifetimes. Wealthy, deeply happy, and intensely in love, the subtle but inescapable burden of living would vanish and people would be able to, for the first time, honestly desire immortality. With universal desire, unprecedented energy and funding could be put behind a project greater than the Manhattan Project or the moon project...the project for curing aging and death -- Project Life.
Jake knew all this was going to happen soon, perhaps within a decade, because man was about to evolve beyond the old mentality of looking to be led by external authorities.
But Jake would not write about that bigger picture, not yet.
*
The news came as no surprise in mid-October. It seemed more like a world-wide salute to the three great accomplishers as the Nobel Prizes were announced: Dr. Sally Salberg -- Medicine, Dr. Ian Scott -- Physics, Theodore Winters -- Economics. Jake and Jasmine concluded their coverage by writing that if Jonathan got elected, he would win the Nobel Peace Prize. By eliminating everything in government, that had nothing to do with protection from physical aggression, they explained, then the mechanism for building political power would vanish, -- eliminating the source of war. Peaceful value exchange would obsolete military-backed power struggles.

In early September, Miss Annabelle and Mr. Melbourne flew to America to come to the monthly meeting at Rico's mansion. This was their first visit since the reunion. They stayed out of the country because of her risks with the IRS. But she wanted to see her students again and be here, be part of the run to put Jonathan in the White House. She and Mr. Melbourne decided to bear the risks and stay with Rico from now until the election.
Miss Annabelle discovered, through the growing number of adults following her Internet class, that something exciting was happening that she called "upward pressures". Young children were drawing their parents, to some degree, into the world of what is and into the power and excitement that grows in that world.
Grasping the potential of those upward pressures, Alan wanted to do a series of specials for children on his national web TV station. The famous Jacqueline Belle, author of How To Raise A Genius Through Five-Minute Bed Time Stories, would talk directly to children about the values of electing Jonathan Ward for president. The upward pressures, he realized, would generate a lot of interest and votes.
Miss Annabelle worked on the TV special in Olivia's peaceful glass house where the reunion was held, preparing for the first show. A week later, she and John took the train to New York and headed to the Patterson Building to record the first show. Alan left the content totally up to Miss Annabelle, for she was the master educator. But, he was taken aback when Miss Annabelle addressed her child audience. Working in the adult world so long, he had forgotten how deeply and directly she could talk to young children. He shook his head and smiled as he listened to her, reminiscing sitting back and listening to her General Lectures 27 years ago...
"I'm talking today not to the parents of the house, but to the young, preteen children. I'm talking to you little ones because only you can feel how wonderful it would be to live forever. People die because we have not figured out yet how to stop aging. With enough knowledge and technology, aging can be stopped. You, your parents, your grandparents don't need to die!"
Jake looked bemused, and he mumbled, "Jesus...they're just kids!" But then he remembered that she was addressing kids, and he was used to addressing adults. Whereas he had to wait until much later into the superpuzzle to introduce the ultimate goal of biological immortality, Miss Annabelle could go straight to the big picture with children.
"Let me warn you: Your parents will not feel so excited as you do to live forever, though. That's because their lives fall far below the exhilarating life they were meant to live.
"But I know a man who can do two very wonderful things:
"1) He can get your parents that exhilarating life they were meant to live and would never want to let go of, thus never want to die, and
"2) He can bring about the end of aging so we never die.
"Wouldn't that be wonderful! That man is Jonathan Ward, and he is running for President of the United States."
She went on to explain about biological immortality, how unrestricted business would deliver it, how "bad people" today restrict progress, and how Jonathan Ward would end the bad people. She even went on to explain who those bad people were and why they were bad and why they did their bad acts of suppression. Talking to children, she could go straight to the point, which Jake and the Patterson Group could not yet bring out in full revelation.
The Jacqueline Belle special for children was shown all over the world the next day on the Patterson Channel. Millions of children and parents watched.
Five days later, Miss Annabelle came to New York to tape the second show. John had two appointments in the city and would join her at the studio later. When she walked into the Patterson Building, two neatly dressed men in the lobby approached her.
"Miss Annabelle?" one asked politely with a smile.
"Yes," she answered, a little confused.
"Criminal Investigation Division, IRS!" the other said sharply. "You're under arrest for tax evasion." He handcuffed her and abruptly left the building and drove away before Alan could run to the front.
*
Miss Annabelle could be put in prison for a long time -- at her age it would be a life sentence -- because of the amount of taxes involved. She did not live in the United States for 27 years, and she paid Australian income taxes, but the IRS said she was a U.S. citizen and owed taxes on her money made from the royalties on her best-seller. Of course, she did not pay U.S. taxes because she could not reveal who she was as she quietly lived her life in exile in Australia.
Salinski received her call from the holding cell. Miss Annabelle was devastated. He got in his private helicopter and flew from Buffalo to New York City. He ran into the jailhouse, met John and Alan in the lobby. John was very loud and upset because he could not see his wife. Alan was threatening the full wrath of his media empire if they did not let her go. Salinski calmed both John and Alan quickly, got himself cleared, and found Miss Annabelle very shaken up.
"I can't be away from John again, Bruce. I just can't go through prison and separation again...not now, not at my age!" She was trembling and cold...and panicking.
"I won't let that happen," he promised. He then gave her his jacket. After he felt Miss Annabelle was stable, he left and met John and Alan in the lobby.
"She's OK for now," he told John. "They're not going to let her out on bail. They'll say she's a flight risk. We've got to work fast. Alan, will you give me the front page of all your dailies tomorrow? I think I can get her out of here."
"They're yours." Alan answered.
"When's the latest you can receive my `call-to-arms' missive?"
"To get in all markets, I'll need it in six hours."
"Six hours from now, it'll be in your FAX." Salinski's mind at that instance jumped to another place as he turned and rushed out of the building.
*
Salinski was right, Miss Annabelle was denied bail. After the arraignment the next morning, she went back into the holding cell. She began wondering what might happen to her and began to tremble at the thought. Before she got too far into her ominous thoughts, the jail guard called her over and slipped her the morning paper.
"This might warm you up," she said, and then winked.
Miss Annabelle looked at the paper. Across the top was a blaring headline: Sue Government!
The article was written by Bruce Salinski. As Miss Annabelle read, she felt the same deep feelings of pride for Salinski as she did for her students. What she read really did warm her soul.
In short, Salinski jumped past appearances and nailed what is by using his special trademark: widescope accounting. His power of fully integrated honesty was in fine form as he explained in extensive detail how it was our abusive government that kept Miss Annabelle from coming home and paying her income taxes. He explained what happened from the very beginning -- the original ego-justice trial, the three years in prison, the devastating restraining order separating her from her beloved students, the spiteful deportation of her fiance, the vindictive denial of travel/visitation rights. He articulated the impossible situation she was put in by the government, which drove her out of her country, although she desperately wanted to stay with her students and friends. Of course, back then, no one knew what heroes her students would become from her special educating techniques. Then Salinski did something wonderful: he turned the tables and put the government on trial. He calculated income taxes paid by twelve average adults in one year and the income taxes paid by Miss Annabelle's twelve students in one year. Then he multiplied the difference by 136. That number was derived by figuring if she had taught the following year, 26 years ago, those students would have turned into eighteen-year-old adults earning income sixteen years ago, the class after that would have been earning now for fifteen years, the class after that for fourteen years, etc., adding up all those earning years to the total figure of 136 earning years lost because she was forced out of the country by our government. Of course, their earning power as eighteen-year-olds would be less than at thirty-six years old. So, he reasonably divided the total by three. Based on that, the grand amount of income taxes lost because she was forced out of the country was 23 billion dollars, and that was before interest was calculated. Moreover, there would be 27 times the number of God-Man Group geniuses in our country today earning long into the future, he wrote. Salinski convincingly argued that the 23 billion dollars lost was public funds, which belonged to the people. He named both the State of New York and the federal government as responsible parties. His article included a cut-out form that the reader would fill out and send in to be named on the class-action lawsuit. Salinski knew that, legally speaking, he was on thin ice. But more important, he knew the impact his message would create. It was the beginning of the end to illusion-dependent institutions like the IRS.
That afternoon, the Justice Department released Miss Annabelle and the IRS dropped its charges with the understanding Salinski would not pursue any further class-action lawsuits. Salinski also had the government drop its charge against Miss Annabelle for illegally fleeing the country 27 years ago. As he explained to Miss Annabelle, there was no statute of limitations if one flees while on parole.
Directly after her release from the holding cell, she and John went to the Patterson Building to tape the next show in her special series for children about Jonathan for President. As she finished the taping, she felt her skin tingling with euphoria. Does this mean, she asked herself with a beautiful smile spreading across her face, that John and I can stay in America now?

By mid-October, the polls showed Jonathan had tripled in three months. He went from an interesting sideshow to a dead-even three-way race, with just two weeks to go.
Jake and Jasmine had never worked so hard in their lives. They were putting out a major front-page article about Jonathan and the Neo-Tech Party every other day. Jake was orchestrating the "big idea" and strategy from article to article, leading up to the election, and Jasmine was his researcher and editor who made the article well researched and exciting to read.
Miss Annabelle, her former students, and Salinski worked around the clock to get Jonathan elected. Thousands of members of Jeremiah's Church of God-Man went door to door, campaigning for Jonathan. Jeremiah had been flying around the country giving the bigger picture in speeches to his many churches, the bigger picture about Project Life. Jake knew the country as a whole was not yet ready to read about immortality. But the eight million members of the Church of God-Man were ready for that bigger picture, for the goal of the Church was to achieve immortality before one dies. Jonathan for president was the first step, and they knew it, bringing eight million votes to Jonathan, plus millions of others whom the Church members could convince.
Jeremiah knew that by supporting a political candidate, his church would lose its tax-exempt status, but that was OK because the IRS was going to vanish soon. Moreover, Jeremiah had discovered a catalyst that was pulling in members at an accelerated rate and would pull in millions more.
*
Jake and Jasmine met with Jeremiah to learn more about this catalyst. The Church had evolved into a pact or alliance for eternal life. Jeremiah handed them the pact:
Church of God-Man
A Pact for Eternal Life
We are members of the Church of God-Man because we live in an anticivilization that accepts the insanity of human life dying. Our anticivilization retards the natural business dynamics and the resulting technological and medical progress that would quickly cure aging and death. We join together to shift the competitive odds enough to drive out the support structure of the anticivilization, which means all its business subjects.
We know we cannot, ourselves, cure aging and death...our individual focus needs to be where we have maximum leverage in life. We realize that pure business dynamics, with the resulting rapid technological and medical progress, would bring us immortality. Pure business dynamics cannot happen in today's politicized anticivilization. Pure business dynamics can happen only in tomorrow's non-politicized Civilization of the Universe.
We shall form a business alliance to drive out all businesses that create the support structure of the political anticivilization. We shall drive every last one of them out of business or, if they want to survive, drive them into the nonpolitical Civilization of the Universe. At that point, with no more business support, the destructive political forces of the anticivilization that retard progress will, once and for all, collapse.
Our business alliance will effectively start the nonpolitical Civilization of the Universe (C of U) among ourselves. Here is how it works: We will give first rights on bids for business deals to members of the Church of God-Man. In time, offering first rights will give members of this business alliance a spectacular advantage over competitors, over those subjects supporting the destructive structure of the political anticivilization.
To keep the business dynamics pure and uninhibited, we will not unconditionally offer business deals to fellow members, for that would lead right back into an anticivilization based on politics, dishonesties, laziness, and irrationalities. Instead, we will offer first rights on business deals, which still can be outcompeted by subjects in the anticivilization. But, what we are doing is shifting the odds to give the alliance a growing competitive advantage, which over time will drive out competition in the anticivilization. Let me reiterate: those business subjects who support the destructive structure of the anticivilization will be driven out of business...or they will, out of survival pressures, be driven into the C of U.
Members of the Church of God-Man and its business alliance that marks the beginning of the C of U on Earth may openly do business with subjects in the anticivilization. Members may do what gives them the best competitive edge. But, members will be motivated to do business with their brothers in the C-of-U business alliance because members will be treated better and will get better results. The same concept applies to using professionals such as lawyers and doctors, for fellow members will be treated with that extra care...like a family member.
Now, we must go back to the reason we are forming this alliance: to drive out the destructive political anticivilization that both prevents the rapid technological and medical progress that would enable us to cure aging and death...and creates the possibility of nuclear holocaust. As this alliance grows and gains momentum, businesses and individuals will be tempted to join for the competitive advantages they would gain. But we want only members who are sincerely joining to drive out the anticivilization for the ultimate goal of curing aging and death.
Therefore, to cut out the pretenders and to accelerate the nuts and bolts of our goal, to be a standing member of the business alliance, businesses and professionals must pay 4% of before-taxes profits to the Association for Curing Aging and Death annually. Individuals without a business or a profession must pay 2 1/2 % of take-home pay. Again, the financial obligation: 1) accelerates the nuts and bolts of our ultimate goal, and 2) cuts out the pretenders.
Theodore Winters and the other powerful members of The Group immediately joined the Church of God-Man's Pact for Eternal Life, which sent shock waves through the business world. The week following Theodore's inauguration, he sent his senior team of accountants on a mission: get bids from potential new suppliers -- all up and down and along his vertical and horizontal business empire. Those potential new suppliers, from trucking companies to software programmers, were members of the Church of God-Man business alliance.
Within a month, Winters, Inc., started switching to several new suppliers -- to those members who were competitive. Many of the old suppliers lost their biggest account when they lost Winters, Inc. The owners of the old suppliers learned why Theodore was switching: to do business with their competition whose owners were serious about curing aging and death. Soon, every owner of the old suppliers Theodore left, most of whom depended on his business, were seriously looking into the Church of God-Man and the Association for Curing Aging and Death. Less than a month later, over half of them joined. ...How rapidly and effectively survival pressures work, Jake thought as he researched this phenomenon for his next article.
Jake knew Jeremiah's approach was critical to achieve the goal, for his approach attacked the huge support structure of the political anticivilization. Jeremiah's approach was working from the inside, taking apart the structure, whereas Jonathan's approach was working, in a sense, outside the structure. Jonathan's "political" approach was offering a new structure that civilization could go into as the old structure collapsed.
Both approaches were crucial to succeed.

The alliance catapulted the Church of God-Man. Membership was growing at twice the previous rate. Jake and Jasmine wrote back-to-back articles about the Pact for Eternal Life that appeared in papers across the country.
A surprise to everyone was the rapid number of individuals joining the Church specifically to be part of the business alliance. Many unforeseen advantages surfaced for the individual in the business alliance. First, individuals were using the alliance to find work with companies in the alliance because many of those companies had already advanced into the new business paradigm known as the division of essence, discovered and perfected by Theodore. Those businesses sought employees who wanted to release the power of their minds. So, individuals excited to leave behind their dead-end, routine ruts still stuck in the division of labor...for an open-ended job of the mind, were joining by the tens of thousands. And the businesses in the alliance found those enthusiastic business-minded individuals a clear cut above others and began hiring them.
The Church of God-Man was becoming, in essence, a business religion. Yet, Jeremiah acknowledged, isn't that the way our cousins in the Civilization of the Universe exist? Isn't a business religion the religion of the Universe, for business means creating and putting values into society?
The alliance was also becoming a tremendous source for single men and women to meet each other with strong, common interests. It was becoming a powerful social network for friendships of all kinds at all levels. Lifelong friends, soul mates, baby-sitters, wholesome friends for children were being rapidly generated through the business alliance. ..."What a wonderful thing business is," Jake found himself thinking over and over again.

Jake and Jasmine attended a Sunday congregation in one of the several New York Churches of God-Man. They did not know anyone there, but they were amazed at what they stepped into.
When Jake and Jasmine arrived, a man they had never seen before was delivering a sermon. He was talking about Ian Scott's breakthrough that life, which statistically speaking frequently evolved into consciousness life, was part of the natural phenomena throughout our Universe and, as such, was the third fundamental component of existence, which Einstein overlooked, focussing only on mass and energy. 1 He recapped Ian's breakthrough, explaining that consciousness becomes the controlling component of existence and takes over the overarching dynamics of the cosmos. Jake and Jasmine took a seat and listened in awe:
"Immeasurably enormous amounts of, if not infinite, existence exists within black holes and gravity units," the eloquent speaker said. "God-Man has taken over the cosmos to the point of creating new realms of existence by unfolding black holes and gravity units. He is a value creator, and he creates the greatest value in the Universe: new realms of consciousness, the third fundamental component of existence.
"When the very advanced God-Man becomes a creator of new realms of existence, which includes consciousness, we call him Zon. For, he becomes the Creator, the Father, of conscious life. The ultimate role of consciousness is to become the creator.
"What about our Zon -- the very advanced God-Man who created the realm of existence that we are part of? Our Creator. How do we repay Him, thank Him...worship Him?
"Consider that the success of His creation -- that is, our galaxy and our Universe -- increases the more values it contains. Now, you can live in Zon's Creation and be a value producer who earns a living but adds no new values into Zon's house, or you can leap to a value creator who creates and adds new values to Zon's house -- adds values to the Universe. ...Your way to repay our Zon, thank Him, worship Him is to make the leap from value producer to value creator."
Jake reeled backward in his chair. What an insight! He did not expect such advanced understandings to come from ordinary people outside The Group. He looked at Jasmine, a little stunned over it all. These people, whom Jake never saw before, seemed nearly as advanced as The Group...and, in some ways, even more advanced! And there are thousands of these Churches around the world, Jake thought, delivering sermons like these every week to millions of people! What a force, Jake pondered, what a force...
After the sermon, the hundreds of people walked into what seemed to be a large ballroom. Over the next hour, Jake and Jasmine experienced something beyond anything they had ever known before. They walked into a large crowd in which they estimated half were value creators, and the other half were value producers who would soon, in this magnificent environment, leap to value creators.
Jake had felt so stimulated in only one other environment -- in the monthly meetings of The Group.
"Darling," Jasmine said, gently shaking his arm, "do you feel it?"
Jake did not have to ask her what she meant. He knew, and he did feel it.
"We're in the Civilization of the Universe," Jasmine continued while turning with her palms up in a 360º circle.
Jasmine was right. The defining measure of the God-Man, Jake now realized, was becoming a value creator. Jake had felt this aura of exuberance and love in only one environment before, only while with The Group.

The world was changing under increasing pressures: the Church's increasing assaults on the support structure of the anticivilization, the wealth generated from the Church and poured into the Association for Curing Aging and Death, the effects on youth from Reggie's music, Natasha's radio show for couples, Miss Annabelle's web site for children and web TV specials and their "upward" pressures on their parents, Salinski's powerful business contacts, Robert's ordinary people who became shakers and doers, Debbie's man-in-the-street patrons, Theodore's heavyweight influences in the business world, the domino-effect Sally was causing in the medical world, the highly visible PR projects organized by Cathy, the orchestrating and coordinating of The Group by Rico. And the latest sensation was the release of Ian's startling Overlay Charts that provided overwhelming proof that conscious civilizations not only existed throughout the Universe and controlled the cosmos to the best living conditions for consciousness, but that they survived their nuclear-decision thresholds by adopting Jonathan's Neo-Tech political structure of no external authorities. Ian's Overlay Charts 1 accurately showed where advanced consciousness, Zons, altered the course of mass/energy nature. The Overlay Charts proved his original theory that life throughout our Universe was a common natural occurrence that frequently evolved into conscious life and, therefore, was the third component of existence...missed by Einstein who identified only mass and energy as the fundamental components of existence. Ian's Overlay Charts started the next major wave of scientific tools with predictive powers since Mendeleyev started the wave of highly predictive Periodic Tables in the late 1800s. Ian's Overlay Charts however, would eventually predict events in physics, biology, chemistry -- even literature, art, and most other fields of knowledge. Here was how they worked:
Ian would chart the way natural phenomena should occur based on the predictable course of mass and energy. Then he would chart how natural phenomena did occur. He then electronically overlaid the two charts. The squiggle or variance proved conscious interference altering the course of nonconscious mass/energy nature. Thus, his Overlay Charts not only proved that consciousness was a component of existence, but proved that it was the controlling component. His Overlay Charts also revealed that the way consciousness controlled the course of mass and energy was through creation -- creating new dynamics from scratch that were unique to consciousness.
Ian predicted that creation was a phenomenon that belonged only to consciousness, and he said his prediction would be proven through the growing work in Overlay Charts. Indeed, other scientists were now starting to build Overlay Charts in their areas of study.
Those Overlay Charts caused a major practical and psychological shift in the people's perspective, for the Overlay Charts clearly showed that the seemingly far-out issues in Jonathan's campaign, like knocking well over a trillion dollars from the budget by ending all aspects of government that acted as an external authority -- everything except for national defense and local protection -- was the natural order of advanced civilizations. The Overlay Charts actually proved that peaceful, borderless business -- not warring governments, religions, nations -- was the natural order out there. In all the squiggles showing conscious control of the cosmos, not one case revealed war and violence. The Civilization of the Universe, in overwhelming proof, was driven by value creation, by value creators or God-Man, and filled with compassion, peace, and love...just as Jake and Jasmine had felt at the Church of God-Man and in the monthly gatherings of The Group. Ian's Overlay Charts carried a powerful, indisputable message: not only is Jonathan's Neo-Tech political structure the natural order, but we'll destroy ourselves through nuclear war or terrorism with our escalating power to wipe out all life on Earth...if we do not get on Jonathan's structure that eliminates external authorities, violence, and war.

Jake knew now The Group was the new Illuminati. These few people were using Neothink to create the future of the world. Although he could not write it yet, not a day passed during which he did not stop to say in his thoughts, "Thank you, Miss Annabelle."

Election Day. The Group gathered at Jonathan's campaign headquarters. This was the most leveraged day in history, for Jonathan's election would open the path to Project Life.
Theodore bought several hours of network television time for election day. Each member of The Group would give passionate live speeches throughout the day.
The election results started off very close. All media polls had predicted a dead-even race, except for Patterson Press. The Patterson Press polls consistently showed Jonathan several points higher than the other polls. But the public dismissed Patterson Press as being partial since the paper openly endorsed Jonathan. The day before the election, the Patterson Press poll showed Jonathan at 40% and the other two even at 30% each. Other polls were showing all three candidates in a dead heat.
As the day went on, Jonathan began pulling ahead. As the votes went West, Jonathan's numbers went higher. In the end, he pulled 43% of the popular vote and easily won the election. The Republican candidate received 30% and the Democratic candidate received 27% of the popular vote.
On this wonderful day, The Group enjoyed a well-deserved celebration party. Tomorrow, the stock market would enjoy a party of its own. Both the Dow Jones Industrials and Nasdaq stocks climbed more that day than any other day in their history.
